Electro-Mechanical Technician

  • Location: Lansing, Michigan

Ionetix is seeking Electro-Mechanical Technicians. These new positions will support the build of cyclotrons in our manufacturing facility in Lansing, MI.

In this role, you will:

  • Use electronic and mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and standard operating procedures in the manufacturing of production assemblies.
  • Interpret design details and follows work instructions.
  • Responsible for soldering, tube bending, and basic electro-mechanical steps to complete assemblies.
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues
  • Ensure operations meets design, quality, and test requirements, prior to assembly and during the manufacturing process.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and precision measuring devices to complete assemblies.
  • Support prototype builds.

Ideal Candidates will possess:

  • Electrical experience
  • Knowledge of hand, power, and electrical testing tools
  • Intermediate ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Problem solving and analysis skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to quality and detail

Mechanical Engineer

  • Location: Lansing, Michigan

POSITION SUMMARY

Ionetix is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer for their facility in Lansing, MI.    The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, prototype, test and release of mechanical and electro-mechanical designs of cyclotrons, automated chemistry systems, and related products.    

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials through analysis and design review activities.
  • Develop design validation and verification test protocols.
  • Support the execution of prototype tests with accelerator and electrical engineering.
  • Provide documentation of the product, including release and maintenance of the Engineering Change Order process.
  • Address non-conforming parts during manufacture.
  • Respond to escalation of technical support of fielded units, obsolescence issues, and cost reduction activities.
  • Serve as the key liaison internally to other divisions and departments, working cross functionally between areas and departments.
  • Provides solutions to problems of moderate complexity that require creative use of established and/or innovative methods.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent related experience
  • Experience with semiconductor processing equipment, medical imaging equipment, or similar physics intensive products 
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis
  • Experience designing in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks), and create 2-D part drawings
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations such as strength of materials, stress/deflection
  • Experience handling multiple projects and shifting priorities and still meet deadlines
  • A record of creativity, physical insight, and breadth of understanding in engineering/physics applications of moderately complex physical processes
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Advanced level software skills in Excel and Word
  • Experience working with particle accelerators related technology is a plus

QC/PRODUCTION CYCLOTRON TECHNICIAN

  • Location available: El Paso, Texas and Sarasota, Florida

Ionetix is seeking a full-time QC/Production Technician in El Paso, Texas and Sarasota, Florida.  This is a unique opportunity to gain experience working in a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility.  This position will have the ability to train on the newest, advanced technology to operate the cyclotron and purification unit to manufacture and release PET products, fully integrating the tracer production at the point of imaging.

The QC/Production Technician has responsibility for the following, but not limited to:

  • Operate the cyclotron and related production equipment.
  • Monitor and interpret production via computerized system.
  • Assist and execute validation of analytical methods and quality controls.
  • Providing support to technology transfer efforts when receiving new technology or processes.
  • Perform quality control tests, prepare solutions, and perform general laboratory and facility maintenance.
  • Maintain raw-material records and internal inventory tracking.
  • Learn and practice FDA and radiation safety regulations.
  • Surveying and wiping the outgoing radiation products.
  • Execute and document Installation, Operational and Performance Qualifications (IOPQ) protocols, calibrations, and the documentation of procedures.

Ideal Candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field such as chemistry, microbiology, medical technology, or related technical experience in a similar setting, such as manufacturing pharmaceuticals, preferred.
  • Minimum of a Technical Degree with experience in a related technical, pharmaceutical or medical technology environment.
  • Prior knowledge of cyclotron operations is desired
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment installation process and application
